Moving to Naples for the Season? A Renter’s Timeline for a Smooth Winter Move

Every fall, Naples changes. Seasonal residents return, area employers staff up for the busy months ahead, and hurricane season wraps up on November 30, bringing moves that were on hold back into the market. From November through April, demand for rentals across Naples rises, and the best homes tend to go to renters who plan ahead.

Whether you’re relocating for a job, joining family for the winter or making Southwest Florida your full-time home, this timeline will help you find the right apartment and settle in before season is in full swing.

8 to 10 Weeks Out: Define What You Need

Start with the basics: how many bedrooms you need, your monthly budget, whether you’re bringing pets, and how long you plan to stay. Think about where you’ll spend your time, too. If you’ll be working in East Naples or near Collier Boulevard, or you want to be close to golf and Marco Island, a community in Lely Resort can save you time every day.

This is also the time to browse floor plans at Inspira and compare layouts, from one-bedroom homes starting at 784 square feet to three-bedroom homes with more than 1,300 square feet.

6 to 8 Weeks Out: Tour and Compare

Narrow your list to a few communities and schedule tours. If you’re still out of state, ask about virtual options and spend time in each community’s photo gallery. You can explore Inspira’s pool, clubhouse, fitness studio and model homes in our gallery before you visit.

When you compare, look beyond rent alone. Amenities like in-home laundry, a fitness center, package service and covered or garage parking can make a real difference in your monthly costs and your routine. Our amenities page lists everything included at Inspira.

4 to 6 Weeks Out: Apply

Once you’ve found the right home, apply early, especially for November and December move-ins. Gather your documents in advance so approval moves quickly, including proof of income and identification for every adult on the lease. Inspira’s FAQ page explains our application requirements, accepted income documents and pet policy so you know exactly what to have ready.

2 to 4 Weeks Out: Handle the Logistics

With your lease secured, book movers as soon as possible, since moving companies fill up quickly in the fall. Set up utilities and internet, arrange renters insurance, and if you’re bringing a pet, complete any required pet screening ahead of time. Ask your leasing team about move-in day procedures, parking for the moving truck and elevator access.

Move-In Week: Settle In

Pick up your keys, walk through your new home and note anything that needs attention. Then take time to explore. Spend an evening at the pool, try the fitness studio, and check out what’s nearby with our Naples neighborhood guide, from golf in Lely Resort to sunsets at the Naples Pier.

Choosing a Lease Length That Fits Your Season

Not every move to Naples is permanent, and not every renter wants a standard 12-month lease. Inspira offers lease terms from 7 to 15 months, which gives seasonal residents and new arrivals flexibility to match their lease to their plans. Talk with our leasing team about which term fits your timeline.
